I started back in 2003 when I signed up for the delayed entry program out of Joplin, MO. From there I went to Marine boot camp Oct of 03 and continued on to the Data Networking School in 29 Palms, CA, then off to Camp Pendleton for my first duty station.
During that time I deployed with US Centcom FWD in Camp As Sayliyah, Qatar.
After getting back from that I was tired of being locked in vaulted rooms with numerous servers behind me, so I started to look for stuff where I could see the impact I make. So I figured why not disarm bombs.
In early 2008, I graduated from EOD school and shipped out to Okinawa to begin my new career. From there I was sent to Laos on a Joint POW/MIA mission to search crashed aircraft from previous wars/skirmishes to repatriate the remains of the lost service members and bring them home. In early 2009 after Laos I was tasked with providing support to the Secret Service for former President Obama's Inauguration. I supported them for multiple operations through the US and abroad until my retirement. In 2009, I deployed to Ramadi, Iraq to scale down Marine operations there and turn everything over to the Army. After an incident in Afghanistan late 2009 we were tasked to deploy forward to Helmand Province in Afghanistan to cover up the shortfall of EOD Techs. In 2010 when I returned I got tasked to move over to CLB-31 on the 31st MEU to take over the EOD shop there. At that unit I went on the USS Essex to multiple locations around Asia to support military operations. In 2011 while in Malaysia the tsunami hit Japan and as soon as the ship could leave port we were on our way to provide support for the NEO (non-combatant evacuation operations). We were there to provide radiological monitoring for any members or equipment that may have entered a contaminated area.
Late 2011 I got out of the Marines and applied to go Air Force EOD. My first duty station was JBLA, WA where I deployed to Al Dhafra AFB, UAE where I forward deployed in support of operations in Kuwait for a short time. When I returned home we closed down the AF EOD flight at JBLM and turned all EOD operations over to the Army. After the shop was closed I PCS'd to Barksdale AFB, LA where I deployed to Al Dhafra 1 more time. In 2021 I left Active Duty for an AGR position at the Reserve EOD flight at Whiteman AFB to finish up my military service and retired Oct 1 of 2024.
With all the issues I have had to deal with trying to get my benefits from the VA I have been learning different ins and outs and I don't want to see other veterans deal with the issues I have had to deal with. And those that are having struggles I have made it my goal to help as much as I am able to get veterans what they rate and deserve.

Hello. My journey into this work started back in 2005 when I worked with Marine Corps Community Services at Camp Pendleton. Marrying a Veteran; and also living and working alongside the military community gave me a deep understanding of the unique challenges Veterans and their families face, and that’s what continues to drive my passion today.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting Veterans in many different ways. From helping organize the first Maryland Veterans Summit in 2018, where 50 organizations came together to talk with lawmakers about critical issues, to working three years at Veterans Legal Institute, where I supported underserved Veterans with complex claims. I’ve also worked with law firms in Maryland and with a Department of Veterans Affairs contractor headquartered in Dumfries, VA, focusing on Board of Veterans’ Appeals cases.
Through 3Gawpe LLC, my vision is to create a true one-stop resource for Veterans. That means not only helping with VA benefits, discharge upgrades, and U.S.C.A. §1151 claims, but also connecting Veterans to legal support and resources that reduce stress, open new opportunities, and improve quality of life. I believe every Veteran deserves the peace of mind that comes with knowing someone is in their corner, handling the complex processes so they can focus on building their future.
